Can 9mm Hybrid Flooring Be Installed Over Tiles?

9mm Imperial Hybrid Flooring™ can be installed over an existing subfloor where the substrate meets the required installation conditions.

The subfloor must be structurally sound, clean, dry and level, with a maximum flatness tolerance of 3mm deviation over 3 metres. Existing surfaces must be correctly prepared, with debris, adhesives, protrusions and contaminants removed before installation.

Where an existing tiled surface does not meet these requirements, appropriate subfloor preparation may be required before installation.

Does 9mm Hybrid Flooring Need Underlay?

No. Imperial Hybrid Flooring™ 9mm features an integrated 2mm premium IXPE acoustic underlay, providing an AAAC 6 Star acoustic rating. Additional underlay must not be installed beneath the flooring.

How is 9mm Hybrid Flooring Installed?

9mm Imperial Hybrid Flooring™ is designed for a floating floor installation using a licensed Välinge® 5G click-locking system.

The flooring must not be glued or mechanically fixed to the subfloor, except where specifically applicable to stair installation.

A minimum 10mm perimeter expansion gap must be maintained around vertical obstructions.

Each board measures:

1800mm long × 228mm wide × 9mm thick

The flooring also features a 0.5mm wear layer and integrated 2mm IXPE acoustic underlay.
